We are enjoying serving at International Christian Assembly in Surabaya, Indonesia, where John pastors a recent church plant. Our city is the second largest in the nation, and has approximately the same population as the entire state of Washington. Our heart is to reach the people of Surabaya for Jesus, then mobilize them to minister throughout Indonesia in four key areas:
- Kenbang Kuning (Yellow Flower Ministry)- ICAS serves the local poor through weekly feedings, Christian Sunday School programs, and a newly opened English Reading Center, all in a devoutly Muslim part of our city.
- Church Building- Our church goal is to build 100 churches throughout Indonesia in 15 years, with churches 10 and 11 to be built by the end of the summer.
- Church Planting- ICA has focused our church planting efforts amongst an unreached people group numbering over four million people. We support, provide training for, encourage, and meet with five church planting teams that we have sent into this region, and pray that God will help us identify and send two more church planting teams to join the others before the end of the year.
- Natural Disaster Response- ICA remains prepared to assist people who have been devastated by the numerous natural disasters in Indonesia.
Our daughters are full of fun! Ellia (age 3 1/2) sings all day long and loves dressing as a princess. Alyssa (age 1 1/2) is adventurous like her Daddy, and loves dancing, running and climbing.
